Turning Sunlight into Progress: GCSTIMES Rooftop Solar PV Project

Who’s been soaking up the sun on our office rooftop every day?

GCSTIMES rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) project has recently been completed, marking another practical step in our journey toward more sustainable operations. The idea is simple: capture sunlight and convert it into electricity, bringing clean energy directly into our headquarters and supporting part of the company’s daily operations.

Based on the project’s estimated annual generation, the system is expected to produce around 351 kWh of clean electricity per day. That is equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of approximately 43 households, based on an average annual consumption of 3,000 kWh per household.

From Rooftop to Operations

What makes this project particularly meaningful is where the electricity is generated, and where it can be used.

Instead of relying entirely on electricity purchased from the conventional grid, GCSTIMES will be able to use solar power generated directly at our headquarters to meet part of its daily electricity needs. In this way, the rooftop solar PV system will complement grid electricity while helping increase the share of renewable energy in our operations.

Sustainability, from Products to Places

Our sustainability journey does not stop with what we make.

From product carbon management and the development of sustainable materials to the deployment of clean energy infrastructure, GCSTIMES is continuing to extend sustainability efforts beyond our products and into our own operations.

The rooftop solar PV project is one example of how environmental ambitions can be translated into tangible projects, measurable performance, and everyday operational practices.

Measuring What Matters

Completing the installation is only the beginning.

In the next phase, GCSTIMES will continue to monitor the system’s actual power generation, on-site self-consumption rate, and emissions-reduction performance. These data points will help us understand how the project performs in practice and identify opportunities to improve the value of the clean energy it generates.

Every day, the sun rises. Now, some of that sunlight is helping power the work we do beneath it.
